A guide for reflected men – Bringing relevant events in Berlin directly to your inbox.
Dear men,
I’m a generally optimistic person, but sometimes I get scared about where the Western world is headed. Recently, Trump essentially cancelled the rights of trans and non-binary people in the US. I can’t even imagine how horrifying this must be for the people directly affected, who won’t have a legal basis for their identity anymore.
But indirectly I’m also scared about what this means for gender diversity as a whole. By claiming there are only two sexes and eliminating the in-between, Trump supporters might feel better because it creates a simpler world for them—it eliminates ambiguity and complexity. But eliminating the nuances of gender also means that the classic stereotypes of what a man and what a woman are supposed to be, will be reinforced. It will make it harder for all of us to show our authentic selves and break out of the stereotypes.
So I really hope that the US find a way to turn this around. With the upcoming elections in Germany I’m also concerned that this trend might spill over to Germany.
Take a breath… 🧘♂️

Resource of the Week
Instead of an article, today I'd like to introduce Zigmal e.V., a non-profit.
Zigmal is a dedicated support resource for men in Berlin, offering safe, anonymous, and respectful consultations. Some longer-time members of the Berlin Men's Group have been building this up behind the scenes — it's one of the first ongoing projects to emerge from that community. After two years of operating quietly through word of mouth, Zigmal has now gone public, so feel free to share it with anyone who might benefit!
You can find further info on their website zigmal.org.
That’s it for now – Peter 🫡
