A guide for reflected men – Bringing relevant events in Berlin directly to your inbox.
Dear men,
last week we had our monthly in-person meetup in Friedrichshain with the Berlin Men’s Group. There were some first time participants and we spoke about their motivation to join a men’s group.
When I ask this question, I often hear one of two answers: Either the man read the book No More Mister Nice Guy by Robert Glover and found out about the healing qualities of men’s groups through the author. Or they come with the intention of connecting with other men at a deeper level compared to their existing friendships.
This time we spoke about how hard it is for many of us to create a solid network of friendships with a certain amount of depth. As men we were trained to appear strong and avoid the vulnerable. Unfortunately, this stands in the way of creating deep connections.
I invite you all to think of one thing you can do today to improve your existing friendships. Maybe you can take the initiative to bring together an existing group of friends. Maybe you reach out to a friend who you haven’t spoken to in a while. Or maybe you bring up a topic that’s slightly uncomfortable for you, something that you’ve been holding back to ask or share.
